What a connection is
A connection is one stream playing at a time. If the living-room TV and a tablet upstairs are both playing, that is two connections. Switching channels on one screen is still one connection.
Installing your player on extra devices does not use connections. You can set up the TV, your phone and a laptop, and only the screens actually playing count.

Common households
- One person watching on one screen at a time: 1 connection.
- A couple who often watch different things: 2 connections.
- A family with a main TV, a kids’ tablet and a bedroom TV: 3 connections.
- A larger household or shared home with separate rooms: 4 to 5 connections.
- Sports fans using multiview: each tile on screen is its own stream, so a four-tile view uses four connections.
What happens if you go over
If more streams start than your plan includes, the extra stream may refuse to play or show a connection message until another screen stops. Nothing is charged automatically; you simply need to stop a stream or move to a plan with more connections.

Changing your connections later
Households change. If you need more screens during a term, contact support before buying again, because a new purchase does not automatically change an existing account.
